Okay this fucking pisses me off.
First off? KARKAT IS NOT JESUS. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM. Goddamnit, xekstrin. His ancestor, the Signless is interpreted by some as an alternian version of Jesus, however that theory is pretty weak.
Now, the first picture in the photoset doesn’t make any fucking sense. Why does Karkat have blood on his hands? Why does he have a Signless pendant when he doesn’t know anything of the Signless, and, if he did, he would really hate Signless for being so open about his blood and possibly be jealous of his bravery. Fucking shit.
Second picture, hooooooooly shit this doesn’t make sense. Why is there blood fucking dripping from his mouth, why does he not have a shirt on, and why is he wearing the Signless’ torture instrument, and in the wrong position?? AND DON’T GET ME FUCKING STARTED ON THE RANDOMASS CROSS NECKLACE. Christ obviously did not exist on alternia so a cross necklace wouldn’t even make sense. Karkat never had the cuffs around his hands, and even if he had them like Signless, they would be ABOVE his head.
Third picture. I kinda get this one. Sorta like Karkat feels attatched to Signless in a regretful and jealous way? But even so (as far as I recall, anyway) Karkat does not know anything of Signless. Good job, mspabooru, for making some actual fucking sense.
Fourth picture. You can probably see what I’m going to say, which is, Karkat never had the cuffs on his hands and they’re not in the right position, AND they’re not even glowing.
Hello Tumblr user 2n0wflake, it seems you have a problem with my photoset. Which is fine, I’m not narcissistic enough to think my stuff is special at all. But your objections as to the actual content/pictures seem kind of misplaced?
First off, I agree with you somewhat. Karkat is not Jesus, or like him. xekstrin’s comment has actually annoyed ME for a while now as well. However, to say that The Signless isn’t even LIKE Jesus is to ignore writing on the wall: A person who is divine in some way [In Jesus’s case, son of god, in the Signless’s case, visions], who preaches equality, love and tolerance and is then killed for it, who has followers that turn the object of their torture into a symbol for them [the cross, the shackles]
The Signless definitely isn’t an Alternian version of Jesus - Andrew Hussie is no CS Lewis and doesn’t pull no Aslan shit- but he’s definitely somewhat of a Jesus like FIGURE. Which is enough justification for the cross in the second picture!
As for the problems you have with the pictures themselves, you realize they’re all symbolic right? Which is justification for the third and fourth pictures! And that the first one is actually made for an AU where Karkat becomes a Second Signless because Sgrub isn’t played? Which gives justification for the first picture! Because now you know \ ( ’ w’)/
